This workshop explores the relationship between the sentence and the line in free verse poetry. You’ll be introduced to a framework for understanding how syntax (sentences) and lineation (lines) play with and against one another, and you’ll do fun, generative exercises to explore rhythm, meaning, line-breaking, and sentence-building in your own poems.
