Collective Effort is an online writing community in which you’ll exchange works of fiction without the postures and constraints of a traditional workshop. Instead, you’ll perform a guided ritual of “Observation and Inquiry,” offering specific descriptive, material, and creative responses designed to help each writer experience their own work in new ways. This process will sharpen your understanding of how your writing moves and feels, invite you to reimagine its possibilities on your own terms, and allow you to develop and revise your work from a place of strength and confidence.

The goal of the Collective Effort is to empower individual artistic pursuits through shared labour. You’ll have the chance to explore new ways of giving and receiving feedback, get energized about your own fiction, and form community. 

Who it’s for:
Those with some experience writing and publishing fiction and/or who have training in creative writing. This is a great course for anyone from new grads to professional writers. If you’re unsure whether this is for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I will happily answer any questions.

+ approx. 1-2 hours of reading/prep per week
